Oku Family’s House is a residential house built around 1600 on the side of the Kumano-kaido.

As time goes by, Oku residence has been renovated and made extensions several times, but it is the oldest farm residence in Senshu area.

The main building (except the Japanese-style room), the gate with tenement house on the both sides (Nagaya-mon gate), the storehouse, the earthen moat of the residence are nationally designated as an important cultural asset.
