    Kasuga shrine

Futon-Daiko Festival is held in this Kasuga shrine

It had disappeared once by Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s Negoro attack, but it was reconstructed after that and it became Soja in Sano.  The 29 shrines in Sanomachi have been enshrined together at Kasuga shrine since 1908.

The ”Taikodai” festival is held here to wish a safety and a good catch in the local fishery. Its nickname is “Futon Daiko” festival because the futon-shaped decorations are topped on the “Taikodai” float. Futon-Daiko festival is held in July every year.
