    Hibashiri shrine

    Hibashiri shrine is a very old shrine.

    Hibashiri shrine is a very old shrine.

    Kagutsuchi-no-mikoto, the enshrined deity of this shrine, is considered as the deity of fire. It is said that male mediums used to fire-walk for a shrine ritual.

    The name of this shrine comes from the old ritual. (Hibashiri means walking on fire) The main shrine is built in Kasuga-zukuri style and was designated as an important cultural property by Izumisano city.

    On the right side, there is Miyuki shrine designated as a national important cultural property.
